Andrea Austin: A Trailblazer in Supply Chain Leadership and Inspiring Role Model
Born in 1979 in San José, Costa Rica, Andrea Austin’s journey to becoming a global supply chain leader and mentor began in a family rooted in leadership and hard work. With her father serving as Sub Director at the Japanese External Trade Organization (JETRO) and her mother as Sales Director at Banco UNO, Andrea was inspired by their dedication and ambition from a young age.
Andrea pursued a degree in International Affairs, showcasing her intellectual curiosity and drive through her thesis, The Masonic Influence on the Emergence of Modern Democratic States in America. This seminal work, now housed in the Grand Lodge of Costa Rica, remains a suggested reading for new Masons, a testament to Andrea’s thoughtful exploration of history and democracy.
A Distinguished Career in Supply Chain Management
Andrea’s professional journey began in 2004 at Procter & Gamble, a Fortune 500 company where she dedicated over 12 years to mastering logistics and operational management. In 2015, Andrea accepted a new challenge as Logistics Manager at Philip Morris International in Nicaragua, where she honed her skills in global logistics and supply chain operations. Returning to Costa Rica two years later, she took on the role of Senior Asset Planner at HB Fuller, further solidifying her expertise and preparing for the next major steps in her career.
In 2020, Andrea made a bold move to the United States with her family, navigating the challenges of relocating during a global pandemic. Undeterred, she secured a Supply Chain Management role in North Carolina before quickly rising to become Supply Chain Director at AlEn USA in Texas. At AlEn, Andrea leads the operations of an international fast-growing organization, driving efficiency, innovation, and growth across global markets.
