The Worldwide Women’s Association Recognizes Madhumita Murphy, MD


 
Dr. Madhumita Murphy has over 20 years of experience in pediatrics. Specialized in caring for critically ill children suffering from congenital heart disease and heart failure, she is known for being compassionate and driven to provide her patients and their families with exceptional care.  She is a champion for physician wellness, improving communication, and palliative care.
 
Currently, Madhumita serves as a Senior Medical Advisor in the Accelerated R&D Leadership Program at Eli Lilly and Company. She received her medical degree from Brown University and completed her general pediatrics residency working for the US Army at Madigan Army Medical Center. In 2008, she went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She is Certified in Palliative Care Education and Practice by Harvard Medical School.
 
In addition to her extensive medical and clinical background, Madhumita holds a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management, as well as certifications in Lean Healthcare and Women Transforming Leadership. Prior to joining the staff at Eli Lilly and Company in 2020, she spent 8 years as a pediatric cardiac intensivist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
 
Madhumita is based in Franklin, Tennessee, where she enjoys continuing to grow as a leader, learning new science and helping to create medicines for patients.
