About Debbie Compton

Debbie Compton is a dedicated caregiver advocate and experienced primary caregiver, having been there for her parents through the challenges of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and vascular dementia. A skilled speaker and Certified Caregiving Consultant, Debbie offers encouragement, insight, and levity to support fellow caregivers. Since 2017, she has served as a Community Educator for the Alzheimer’s Association, and she continues to educate, advocate, and empower caregivers with her warmth, compassion, and expertise.

Debbie founded The Purple Vine, a comprehensive resource to support caregivers. Through one-on-one consultations, a blog, and a weekly newsletter, she addresses the most pressing concerns caregivers face and provides practical tools for managing their journey with greater resilience and hope.

Debbie has authored ten books, including the well-regarded Caregiving: How to Hold On While Letting Go, where she shares deeply personal stories, practical tips, and a faith-centered perspective to support other caregivers.
