Paola María Borgonovo Midence is a Guatemalan-born industrial engineer, entrepreneur, and strategy consultant with a diverse and accomplished career spanning finance, business development, and social impact initiatives. Holding a degree in Industrial Engineering from Rafael Landivar University in Guatemala and an MBA from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, she has combined technical expertise with strategic insight to drive success across multiple industries.
A trailblazing entrepreneur, Paola founded her first import and retail company at just 20 years old, quickly stepping into the role of financial manager. Her entrepreneurial spirit and leadership have guided her through a multifaceted career, working with prestigious organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank, and private Chilean firms on financial and social development projects.
Paola is a partner at Borgonovo Pohl S.A. de C.V. in El Salvador, a family-owned business with more than five decades of experience producing and exporting premium coffee, as well as natural and synthetic packaging products, including jute, henequen, and polypropylene sacks. The company’s commitment to quality and innovation has positioned it as a trusted supplier across the Americas
Her international expertise extends to Germany, where she has provided financial and accounting consultancy services. Additionally, she worked with Arbeiter Samariter Bund in Erlangen on an immigration project, using her knowledge of the German system to assist expatriates with bureaucratic procedures, insurance, and banking, reinforcing her dedication to social development and global integration.
